Description
RIP Tracks, the title of this piece, isn't as violent as it may sound. RIP is an acrostic for "Repair In Place." Trains are switched onto these tracks and await the replacement of brake pads, or to have a part welded back in place, or whatever. Repair is an ongoing issue for railways.
My goals for this piece were to bring out the unexpected aesthetics of the RIP area: 1. The perspective of dozens of rail tracks aligned toward the horizon; 2. The variety of colors; 3. The general gritty feel. Reference photo: Jack Delano, public domain.
